Experienced Tax Accountant
Accounting firm with an established clientele of individual and small businesses based in Lake Elmo is seeking an experienced Tax Accountant. Must have a minimum of 5 years of recent public accounting experience and willing to work on site, this is not a remote position. We are a growing organization, offering a casual, small business environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Experience preparing and reviewing Business returns; Partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation and Schedule C Sole Proprietorship returns.
Research issues and prepare work papers related to tax audits and correspondence and draft response.
Prepare tax projections and draft letter of explanation
Review financial statements and provide journal entries, detect errors and provide client with necessary adjustments.
Research tax issues and develop actions plans related to tax returns and projections
Represent clients before the IRS and other taxing authorities
Serve as a tax information source within the company
Develop working relationships with clients and effectively utilize appropriate technology to communicate
Bring additional business to the firm through new clients and new work from existing clients

Position Requirements
Bachelor degree or equivalent and five or more years related experience and/or training
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of clients, customers and the general public
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and/or governmental regulations
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Experience with QuickBooks Online Accounting Software and QuickBooks Desktop
Experience with Drake Tax Preparation Software
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or EA designation (EA is preferred)
Must have an active PTIN

Hours and Compensation
Ability to regularly work 40-45 hours per week, with more expected during tax season

Compensation
Salary 65,000 – 85,000 based on experience
